How to Play Mahjong

Mah jongg seems to be a complicated type of game because of the wide variations of tiles that are used and the diverse types of rules that have to be followed. However, this game is not as complicasted as it seems. In fact, this game can be played by children who are as young as four years old.

The tiles that are used in mahjong totals to 136 tiles. However, some variations has tiles that total up to 144 tiles. Each player has 13 tiles at the beginning of the game. As you go through the game, you will have to draw one tile and discard one tile. For the entire round, you will have to maintain a total of 13 tiles in your hand. If you fail to do this, you will be given penalties depending on the local rules. This may continue until you form certain tile pattern that are required in this game. In this case, you will have to be familiar in forming pongs, chows, kongs, and eyes.

Playing mahjong can be fulfilling in the long run. To be able to appreciate this game, you have to learn the basics. This is done so you can understand how the game works.

Some People Still Prefers to Send Shortened Text Messages

The cell phone craze amongst teenagers started when I was in my third year in high school and at that time the most popular unit was that huge Nokia 5110 later on followed by Nokia 3210 and then the Nokia 3310. I didnt have a mobile phone until I get into college and was told that the most important rule in texting is to shorten words up by removing the vowel letters. Seriously I don’t see the point in doing this as it seems to make the whole sentence confusing not to mention it certainly dampens ones spelling capability. These days though mobile phones are capable of sending and receiving longer text messages it is no longer necessary to type messages in short cuts. But I guess old habits die hard take for example Vivian, she sent me a text messaging asking how to fwd a message on facebook. Whats with fwd why not just type the whole word? I replied saying that there’s a forward button on your message box and that should do the trick.
